DO I REALLY WANT A SCHIPPERKE???

If you are just starting on your search for the perfect dog or breed for you, the answer to that question is probably no. When one takes into consideration that the AKC alone recognizes almost 200 breeds, and that there are over 400 breeds recognized worldwide, the odds are many breeds out there will fit your needs and requirements better than a Schipperke.

But, if you are looking for a small, very active breed, with an out-going temperament and a zest for life, AND you are willing to put the time and energy into training the dog to be a succesful member of the family, the Schipperke might be the dog for you.
