PUPPY APPLICATION
Thank you for your interest in Kelbri and Tudox Schipperkes!
If you are interested in possibly obtaining a Schipperke from us, please take
the time to answer the following questions. You can copy and paste the questionnaire
into an e-mail and just e-mail it back to us at kelbrischips@aol.com
. We will be happy to answer any questions you might have about Schipperkes
in general and our dogs in particular, you can find a copy of our contracts
and guarantees, information on health testing and certification, photos and
pedigrees etc. on the website, Kelbri.com.
Since we are interested in providing our Schipperkes with the very best permanent
homes we can, we try very hard to match the particular puppy's needs with those
of the prospective family. In order to help us do that, we evaluate each puppy
and dog individually, and then must have information about the prospective family.
Keeping this in mind, please fill out the attached questionnaire. Your candid
answers will help us determine if we have a Schipperke that is right for you.
We do keep a "Wanting a puppy list" if we do not have a puppy that
is a good match for you available at this time, or if you are planning for a
puppy in the future and if it seems that our puppies and our breeding program
will be a good match for your needs. Pet puppies are generally $600.00 and we
may require a $200.00 deposit to actually "reserve" a puppy for you.
The deposit is fully refundable if we feel that we do not have an available
puppy that will meet your requirements.
FYI in general, our puppies will be guaranteed for five years against congenital/hereditary
defects and have a five year death by "natural causes" guarantee,
and guaranteed to have the proper Schipperke temperament if socialized properly.
Please see a copy of our usual Pet Puppy Contract and
Guarantees. They will be microchipped, vaccinated appropriate to age, and
on heartworm prevention. They will have a lifetime return contract. Pet/performance
pups will have a spay/neuter agreement. We also believe in health testing our
breeding schips and support and use the Canine Health Information Center (http://www.caninehealthinfo.org)
and OFA (offa.org) and CERF... and most schips have their eyes CERFed, Patella
certified via OFA, Thyroid certified via OFA, Hips are x-rayed and submitted
to the OFA for LCP/Hip certification. All breeding schips are individually MPSIIIB
tested or normal by pedigree. We register most health clearances and they can
be looked up on-line on the OFA/CHIC or CERF sites ... check OFFA.ORG. Many
of our dogs and relatives are also AKC Champions or pointed and many are obedience,
rally and/or agility titled.
Note on picking up or shipping puppies. We are near Columbus, Ohio and travel
to Rochester, NY quite often to visit family, so puppies can either be picked
up in person at home in Columbus or Rochester or we will ship puppies if an
appropriate airline flight is available. We have shipped via Continental and
Delta Pets First and have had good experiences with both of them. We do crate
train all our puppies so they are comfortable traveling in a crate (both by
car and by airplane) and have been very happy with how the airlines have handled
and treated the puppies when they have flown. The puppies generally are not
scared and they do have food and water available, they just tend to get rather
bored, same as if they were on a long car ride, they do not know they are in
an airplane 40,000 feet up in the air :) Generally shipping will run around
$200 for a young puppy, adults and older pups will generally be around $300,
including the shipping crate and airline paperwork and certificates.
